We kicked off our first show off the LivingSocial Live Music Series at 918 F Street. The bill were the bands from Brooklyn: Midnight Spin and Black Taxi. It’s safe the say the bar was set VERY high for the series as both bands rocked it so hard, making 918 F Street the place to be on a Wednesday night.
Midnight Spin are no strangers to the DC area, playing here as much as they can and killing it every time. They even had some true fans and friends come out to support them, which was great to see. Their set was filled with track off of their EP “Through the Mojo Wire” and some new tracks from their much anticipated record. Having missed them that last time they played a headliner show in DC, it was exciting to finally hear them. They brought it down as the first band to start off this series! Couldn’t have asked for a better band start it off for us.
This was only the second time Black Taxi had come to play DC, odd since DC isn’t too far from New York, but we were nothing but happy that the four-piece came back to play hits from both their records, “Things of That Nature” and their latest, “We Don’t Know Any Better.” As many in the room had not seen these guys live yet, they were in for a pleasant surprise as to how great their live presence was. Whether it was Ezra Huleatt jumping over the railings to entice the crowd while balancing on the beams that kept him from falling down onto the lower floor’s bar or just the overall energy that the entire band gives out during their entire set, it was easy to figure out that they’ve made a lot of new fans that night.

We all look forward to seeing both bands the next time they’re in town and can’t wait to continue this series at 918 F Street! Hope to see you all next Wednesday!
