Those Darlins at DC9

Merrijoy October 30, 2012 DC Live, events, News No Comments

I had the pleasure of seeing the almighty Tennessee band, Those Darlins last Thursday, as DC9 was their first stop on their latest tour (their last tour of the year). Having this been the first time seeing them live, I was quickly sold on just the energy alone provided by Jessi and Nikki Darlin. Amazing how the tiny Jessi Darlin can keep the crowd in the palm of her hands with the confidence she delivers through every strum or lyric she sings. The same can be said about Nikki Darlin, as she entraps the audience with the highlight of the show in song “Nightjogger.” She puts the guitar away and gets ready to be one with the audience, all eyes on her. More confidence that provides a dynamic that makes you as a crowd member, wish you were just as badass as they are. I’ve got to say that this is a band to see live as they play with grit and attitude, resulting in some good old-fashioned rock and roll, with a country twang!

We also spoke to them in a pre-show interview, which you can look forward to soon! In the meantime, check out some photos from their DC9 show below!
